先日から何度もお伝えしているサンダンス映画祭。その賞が発表になり、今年のサンダンス映画祭は幕を閉じた。

大賞は「Like Crazy」というイギリス人女性とアメリカ人男性の移民法によって引き裂かれた遠距離恋愛ドラマ。先日から書いている「Pariah / アリーケの詩（うた） (2011)」は、USドラマ部門撮影技師優秀賞を受賞。セサミストリートのエルモを担当している人形師を追ったドキュメンタリー「Being Elmo: A Puppeteer's Journey / 日本未公開 (2011)」がドキュメンタリー部門の審査員特別賞を受賞。アフリカのリベリアで14年も行われていた内戦で何千人もの人々を殺した「真っ裸の指令官」と呼ばれていたジョシュア・ミルトン・ブラヒが牧師になるまでを追ったドキュメンタリー「The Redemption of General Butt Naked / 日本未公開 (2011)」が、USドキュメンタリー部門の撮影技師優秀賞を獲得。ワールドシネマ部門では「The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975 / ブラックパワー・ミックステープ 〜アメリカの光と影〜 (2011) が、ドキュメンタリー編集優秀賞を獲得。ルワンダの大量殺戮が行われていた頃に、ルワンダのイスラムのムフティーが避難所を提供した事を描いている「Kinyarwanda / キニアルワンダ (2011)」が、ワールドシネマ観客賞を受賞。こちらはどうやら3月にアメリカでの公開が決定しているようだ。

ショート部門のUSショートの大賞は「Brick Novax」で、インターナショナルショート大賞は「Deeper Than Yesterday」というオーストラリアの作品が選ばれた。
